Eggs Raise Cholesterol

For the past few years I’ve heard this constantly and seen many of my friends taking the yolk out as they heard from their favorite health Youtuber saying not to eat the yolk as it raises cholesterol. Well they’re right… mostly… Yes egg yolks do raise cholesterol, but that’s a good thing? The majority of people when they hear cholesterol they think of an artery clogging heart stopping substance that they need to stay away from. They are thinking of LDL cholesterol or more commonly known as the “bad” cholesterol which your body does need but i’ll get to that another time.

Eggs do raise your cholesterol, but they raise the “good” cholesterol”(HDL) which every cell in your body needs to do their thing. So that clears up that misconception, but now i’ll tell you something amazing about eggs.

Eggs are the perfect protein as they contain all the essential amino acids, half are in the white and the other half in the yolk. THAT’S WHY YOU NEED TO EAT THE WHOLE EGG!!!!!! A major benefit for men is that the cholesterol from the eggs is important for increasing testosterone production as cholesterol has a similar chemical structure to testerone and is needed for efficient production.

All of us can benefit by adding 2-3 eggs a day to our diet, if your goal is to lower your risk of heart disease, lose weight, or build muscle, etc eggs are a universal healthy food that all ages can enjoy and benefit from.
